Olympics 2012 Londons mascots Wenlock Mandeville unveiled; what the heck are they?

At initial glance, Londons mascots for the 2012 Olympic games crop up to be a little kind of mini unconventional cyclops creatures.So what just does that have to do with London?Named Wenlock and Mandeville after small English towns, these one-eyed creations are shaped on a story by childrens writer Michael Morpurgo in that they"re shaped by a welder from the last drops of steel used to set up the girders for the Olympic track in easterly London.And if you"re wondering about the stress of the orange light atop their heads (or hulk eyes, rather), thats ostensible to paint a London cab light.
